HISTORY

Our farm produces specialty coffee Don Víctor we are a family company, we have been producing coffee for more than 12 years but we have processed our own coffee until 2 years ago (2021). We are made up of Carol Mata Gutiérrez, coffee producer and taster, with the support of her husband German Angulo Ureña and their three children Silvia who is also a coffee taster, Christopher and Emma who are learning from the process and we dedicate ourselves to the cultivation, process and sale of specialty coffee nationally and internationally.

Our farm is located in San Pedro de Tarrazú over 1800 meters above sea level, we produce coffee from specialty hand in hand with sustainability, the region in which we find ourselves has characteristics of high quality and we produce the best coffees worldwide.

This farm goes back many years where my father Víctor Manuel produced coffee for more than 50 years, and who inherits his history and love for coffee from his daughter Carol who currently manages part of what is his legacy, we always stood behind a great company, but a couple of years ago the initiative to find out what we are producing and how to give it a value was born.

We add to our coffee so much effort invested in it. We work hand by hand with the environment in programs such as NAMA café and Rain Forests Alliance, We are also managing the blue flag for our farm. We always take into consideration the fundamental aspects of the environment and how to minimize the impact of our actions on the environment. We work on the PUR project “our footprint” in the year 2022 we sow around of 200 trees, implementing agroforestry cultivation on our farm.

We benefit from our coffee thanks to the Altos del Abejonal micro-benefit, who they bring our vision to reality with high standards of drying and storage. Our coffee goes through several cupping filters to keep track of our production, including the cupping layout carried out by ICAFE. We strictly monitor each process developed to bring the best coffee from our farm to each table.

Processes COFFEE Don Víctor

Red Honey: the coffee cherries are selected and harvested at their optimal point of maturation, then they are mechanically pulped, leaving part of the mucilage, dried in the sun and with high surveillance in each process until its optimal drying to guarantee the best quality of our coffee.

Current markets: Costa Rica mainly, we are seeking to locate our coffee in the abroad we work with PROCOMER to train us in this aspect.

COFFEE PROFILE

Our coffee is a very traditional Arabica coffee, high quality and full of honey which gives it unique features.

Sweet notes of honey- brown sugar, caramel, fresh notes, bright lemony acidity sweet, creamy body, good sweetness and balance. 100% pure coffee, specialty coffee, medium roast, grain or ground.
